Workshop “Eating Disorders in Adolescents During War: Psychological Aspects and Support Methods”
November 18, 2025, staff members of the Veteran Mental Health Center of Excellence at the Institute of Psychiatry of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv held a workshop for psychology students of KNU. The event was dedicated to one of the most pressing issues of our time — eating disorders in adolescents in the context of war.
Participants had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how wartime events affect young people’s eating behavior and to learn about various manifestations of eating disorders during adolescence.
During the workshop, the following topics were discussed:
- Methods of prevention and correction of eating disorders
- Psychological factors influencing adolescents during wartime
- Techniques for providing psychological support in crisis situations
We sincerely thank all participants for their engagement, interest, and valuable insights. We hope that the knowledge gained will be useful in your further academic and professional activities and will contribute to better support for young people during these challenging times.
It is crucial to care for adolescents’ mental health and provide them with support, as they are our future.
